New Baby

Look at this loverly old chap, an Original Leach Kick Wheel, it's my new Baby. I just purchased it from a very nice man on Ebay this week. Thank you Graeme, you can be sure it's gone to a nice home, where it will be lovingly looked after for the rest of it's potting days.

I've been looking for one of these for a long time, I need to give it a name, any suggestions welcome.
The young man in the picture is Joshua, Nathan and Lousie's son,who has come to stay with us for the weekend. Nathan has taken these pictures of some of my last firing . As I said on the last post I'm very happy with the results.
Just thinking about the name what about " Bernard " ?

Paul,

Congrats - that's a beauty. BTW, Simon Leach recently posted a video on You Tube about a Leach Wheel he got from his brother John.

Instead of naming it Bernard, how about Bernie? This seems irreverantly appropriate, if there is such a thing.

Also, your covered jars are really singing. They have lot's of volume and the parts are well integrated. Particularly like the brown one with the white decoration.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Paul, What a treat. I bet there's been lots of pots made on that wheel. I thought 'Bernie' too when reading the post. (great minds think alike right S. ?)
Ron (not Sarah, who forgot to sign out again!!!)

How about Bernadette? Or does it have to be male?

Hi Sarah, You have raised an issue that put's me in a dilema.
Bernard or Bernie are both good names, as a doff of the cap to the master. but Bernadette ( loverly name ) would mean I am sitting astride a woman all day, kicking around trying to produce something!! I don't know about you? but I would find that a bit of a distraction. You have to remember us potters have very creative minds.

Paul,

How about Billy or Willie in deference to William Marshall?

Oh hi Paul. That comment from Sarah was by me, Ron. I think Bernadette is good! I'm going to have to name my treadle now...hummm. Lucy? Wobbly? Well, if you don't take Bernadette then I'll go with that, I don't mind a good distraction now and again.

Well what happened on monday Paul? Did they bannish you?

Hi Hanna,no I'm still there. in fact they are going to increase the size of our team.
and Ron, you can have Bernadette as a name, just don't think about it too much when your working.
