Hey Paul. This looks familiar to me. Happened years ago when I was working at a friend's apple farm in an old unheated migrant house.
I just read the comments below and I'd say I am a 'clay potter' too. I'd rather make pots than just about anything else.
I am getting ready to try some gas firings for my earthenware. Hopefully it will work out, if not on the first try then maybe on the next.
