Two Years on .....

Today marks Two years since Marion and Myself were both made redundant
from our jobs on the same day.
What a fun day that was!

I couldn't make up my mind as to what pictures to put on,
so in the end I plumped for pics of work in progress today.
These Garlic pots needed the lids and bottoms turned.
I damaged the edge of on of them so I put a small handle on to cover the mark.
but I've decided I quite like it.
I've also revamped my glass cabinet with a potter of the month.
This Month it's Doug Fitch
Doug has been a great help to me over the past couple of years,
so Thanks Doug.
I came up with this idea for using some kiln furniture as part of the display.
I'm sure its been done many times before, but I like it.
I also want to say a Great Big
Thank you to Marion.

For supporting me every step of the way when I stated, I wasn't going to look for another job
but that I was going to try and make a living as a potter.

I know it's a bit tough at the moment, but we have come so far in such a short
time and I couldn't have done it without Marion's support and encouragement.

Sometime next week I will reach my 400th post
So to mark that occasion I'm going to have a jug up for grabs,
more info next week.

Congrats!! On New Year's Eve 2001, Gerry quit his job and I was laid off from mine. At the time we were scared to death but Gerry now has one of the best jobs in the world and I am a very happy potter. This would not have happened for us if we were still in those jobs that we hated anyway. Do what you love!!!! You have come so far in such a short time :)

Paul, I have a huge grin on my face about this post. I cannot put the right words on it, it just makes me so darn happy to know what you are doing, to know and hear you acknowledge your wife and the difficulties and joys of making these changes and that you have joy in your heart doing what you love....and to have made this little connection to you thru your blog make me happy too.
Here's to many more happy years making things with clay!

Right on Paul! What you've done in two years is amazing. Heck, in your first year you rocketed to great heights.

Thanks Guys, for the nice comments, the last two years have been brilliant. I've loved the comments and advice you have given me. you have no idea how much it helps. just to clear things up, me and Marion are married, but not to each other. I'm sure we will sort it out one day.
