OK I need your help!
This Saturday I am attending the
Heritage Crafts Association Spring Conference
at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
part of the day's events is an
Instant Gallery of Craft.
and I have been asked to take along a piece of work
to put on display.
I have 5 options but I can't decide
when you know that some top crafts people will be casting a critical
eye over your work
It makes it so difficult to choose a pot
that I feel is up to the scrutiny.
so these are my options
I can see things wrong with all of them in my mind.
But I am assured by other crafts people that this is a good thing.
You need to want to improve your work with every pot you make.
That way, you keep the work fresh and can move forward
as experience and knowledge builds.
So if you could tell me which one I should pick
it would make the decision so much easier.
Thanks for your help.

Paul,
These are all great! My favorite is the 3rd one. I also really like the pitcher with leaves on it.

It depends upon what really expresses YOU.
All of us will choose differently.
I like the first two, possibly the first will give the best impression-
but only you can see them in real life!
They are all wonderful! Which ever you choose will be great :)
They are all lovely! Choose the one you like best!

They're all beautiful! If I had to pick one, it'd be the green pitcher with the finger waves on it.
I like the first three the best, going with the word "heritage" I would want to choose the third one, but I think I like the first one the most just in general....
Choices, choices....
I would pick any one of them in a heartbeat! I like the second and third, personally.
I like the Autumn Leaves pitcher and the covered jar (3rd one down) which I think was inspired by Michael Cardew so that one really speaks to your inspiration.
Try rock, paper, scissors?
I'd go with the first one Paul, but then what do I know I'm not even a potter! (yet!!) I don't think any will be a wrong decision though. If you had to smash all but one which would you save? that's the one.
The old Dessert Island Disc's trick
ah! reverse psychology.
I like it.
They are all terrific, Paul..I will go with the fifth one because I love Fall and leaves. :)
Have fun. Trish
I'd say a jug. #1 or #4.
Number 1 does it for me, nice pots all though. Have a great time at the V&A - I ought to be there too, but it's Hil's birthday
Personally, I love the first one the most, but I think the Autumn Leaves pitcher would stand out from the rest,in a display.
The first one is particularly assertive and self assured in how it is decorated. the colour contast - the relationship between the slip and the body is especially warm and nice.
