Happy Birthday MUM

This is my Mum Molly
I'm sure she won't mind me telling you
that today she is 75.
&
The Best Mum In the World.
This was Mum at a family wedding in about 1967
She has been a great Mum to me.
she has always done what ever it takes to keep our family going
I've lost count of the number of different jobs she has done
over the years,
But I'll list just a few
to give you a flavor of what she was prepared to do for us.
before I started school she worked at a Pen factory
that had a nursery for the kids,
Then she worked in a darkroom printing pictures,
a toothpaste tube factory
then a sewing machinist making military hats,
a shoe shop where she became manager,
a Auxiliary Nurse
a cook in a pub
a care nurse in old peoples homes
she often did two jobs at a time going from one to the other.
before coming home and cooking and cleaning for
my Dad my Brother & Me.
in fact she only stopped working a few years ago.
I think she deserves this pint of Guinness.
If it wasn't for the support of my Mum & Dad when I was a 12 year old boy
I wouldn't be here now making pots.
They built me a wheel & a kiln,
then put an extension on the house of which half was given
over to me as a workshop
and then supported me through college.
She's looking great for 75.

Happy Birthday MUM
I Love You.

I've just noticed it's hard to find a picture of Mum without a glass in her hand.

I know I'm a day late, but tell your Mum happy birthday from us here on Cape Cod. And buy her a pint.

So wonderful what many of our parents have done for us over our lives. We are certainly fortunate. Nice to see you two together there enjoying the day.
