I Can't think of a title for this Blog Post

I realise it's been over a week since I did a blog, and so there
are quite a few pictures on this one, so I'll try and keep
the Verbal to a minimum, and just blast you
with an array of visual stimulation.
The Font bowl we made is on display, in our local church which is nice,
we still have to make the replacement.
Further work has started in the barn.
Oh and we do still make pots,
although these look like Burton's Chocolate Marshmallows!
an all time favorite if you happen to be passing bye!
These are Large 6lb Devon Jugs, well large for me.

here they are trying to dry the bases.
30 small sauce pots slipped in various colours, what's nice about these
is that I throw them and then Marion turns them and slips them.
and it really does feel like teamwork.
I can't believe I dropped my PJ stamp this week and broke it!
"Oh Dear" I said.....
We have just had some more pots out of the kiln
this is our 7th Glaze firing so far this year.
And I must say I do love these baking dishes or Cassoulet dishes.
These are 12" wide and are in the workshop priced at £40 each.
They do both have two handles, it's just the angle of the shot!
These Mugs are an order for our neighbour Pat
I made them to Pat's design, and I like them,
Pat loved them and has whisked them away with an hour of coming
out of the kiln.
I just noticed I'm starting to waffle!
The Log Burner arrived today for the barn.
Just in time I reckon as they took the roof of the barn today.
I seem to have achieved very little today,
I've been a bit of a social butterfly, But I have loaded a bisc firing
Once Marion had finished the Sgraffito on these cups.
The showroom is starting to look better now that it has some stock.
and I'm just starting the prep for tonight's evening class.

Slipware Jugs

Saturday Morning and I have unloaded another glaze firing
that's the 3rd this week.
Here is one of the jugs I've promised myself I would make
more of this Year.
and as if by magic here are 3 more.
I also slipped this tall jug this morning
it's green slip.

and I've made myself a couple of large baking dishes
I think these look so much better with the slip dribbling down the side.
Here are all three together drying in the workshop,
Also out of the kiln today is this order for 20 mugs.
It's a cold misty day around here.
But we also have now got the National Trust stock
back close to some kind of acceptable level.
Now to start making some more Devon Jugs.
I'm feeling really good at the moment and feel as if
I'm right back in it now.
with a head full of new pots I want to make.
That's always a good sign.

Five Years On

I can't believe that this month I have been writing this Blog
 for Five years.
We have come along way in this short space of time.
Five years ago I never would have dream't
that I would have a workshop & Showroom like this.
Marion has been my backbone in setting all this up
and supporting me all the way.
and now we are working together it feels so good.
We do enjoy working together
and Now we look forward to the next phase
and the next five years.
This is our next challenge.
I love writing the Blog
and it has been a great help to me over the years.
I have made some great friends
and your comments have always be so good
at either lifting my spirits or giving me good advice.
I do like to keep the Blog light
with a touch of humor.
and I hope we have had some fun along the way.

Here is a link to my first blogs.

River Cottage Spring Fair 2013

We are busy making stock for the River Cottage
Spring Fair 2013.
The Axminster canteen has just had a face lift
and we popped in on Wednesday morning for Breakfast
which we would highly reccomend.
We also picked up some posters and leaflets for the showroom.
Here is a quick snap while the space was clear of people.

as a part of our stock I have made some more salt pigs
Because they are slipped on the inside I try and dry them out
on the kiln as it's cooling down.
I find it helps to stop them from collapsing.
at the last River cottage event we almost sold out of ramekins
in the first hour.
So this year We are taking no chances and making sure we have plenty of stock.
I made 60 yesterday, but we need another 140.

As you can see it's all just a bit too much for Cadbury.
This morning we opened the first Glaze firing of the year.

These are New for 2013.
Garlic pots are now back in stock.

and these jugs are going to be available in four sizes.
So plenty to go at this year,
with workmen all around sorting out
the building changes, there is a real buzz around the
workshop at the moment.
